The Boys

What can I say about The Boys?

The Boys is a series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, began at Jim Lee’s Wildstorm Productions, currently published by Dynamite Entertainment. The series features a team of five individuals backed by the CIA whose mandate is to keep a check on the superhumans, who were created by Vought American. VA’s aim is to replace our armed forces with superhumans, but in their universe, the events of September 11th, 2001 ended up taking out the Brooklyn Bridge, rather than the three buildings of the WTC complex. This was a direct result of the intervention of the Seven, the premier superhuman team of VA.

The Boys are:

Billy Butcher
Mother’s Milk
The Frenchman
The Female (of the species)
Hugh "Wee Hughie" Campbell

The Seven are:

The Homelander
Queen Maeve
Black Noir
Jack From Jupiter
A-Train
The Deep
Starlight

Colonel Greg Mallory was their former leader, but during an altercation between the Boys and the Seven, Mallory’s granddaughters were murdered by the Lamplighter (a former member of the Seven); this resulted in the Seven allowing Mallory to take out the Lamplighter in order to forestall a costly escalation in hostilities. The two teams are currently working on a very shaky agreement, but events seem to be eroding, as the Homelander seems to be succumbing to his baser instincts.

The series is to be made into a movie.
